The club places a great emphasis on tuition. The club is an RYA approved training school and runs courses each year. Even without committing yourself to a course there are always experienced sailors on hand who will be happy to give you helpful advice on tuning and sailing your boat.

Errwood's training school has proved popular over the years with Club members and non-members alike. It aims to teach to RYA level 1 and level 2 through the sailing season. The shore-based parts of the course take place in the clubhouse and Club boats are available to students without boats for the more practical aspects. The Club has a few buoyancy aids which it can provide to those who do not have their own.
